Living the Dream

The story of Dream Earz begins in 2009 in St. Petersburg, Florida by owner and drummer Mitch Marcum.

As a touring performer and band leader, Mitch experienced custom in ear monitors for the first time around 1998. While he loved the aural experience of using CIEMs, it was painfully obvious the monitor industry did not offer monitors that could deliver the wide range of frequencies and clarity professional drummers were searching for. Necessity is the mother of invention, and Dream Earz personifies that cliche’.

Working with audiologists, and engineers Mitch developed the first iteration of professional in ear monitors made specifically for drummers; Drum Earz.

With a grass roots strategy, Mitch started sharing his product with drummers around the Tampa Bay area, and through word-of-mouth and a modest marketing approach he begins to attract customers throughout the United States. Finally, the industry had in ear monitors specifically tuned and engineered for drummers. As the DE reputation grew, other musicians started to inquire about custom tuned monitors for vocalists, guitarists, bass players, keyboardists and audio engineers.

Thus the birth of Dream Earz, and he hasn’t looked back since.
